the r3. course presented by dr paul j hwin is easily one of the most unique and genuinely valuable cpd courses i’ve attended. paul’s depth of knowledge and credibility are undeniable, and the clarity and ease with which he presents really sets him apart. he truly gives you the knowledge and the confidence to start planning and executing full mouth rehabilitation cases.
complex principles build on the foundations of kois, spear, and dawson are broken down into practical, digestable steps that left me with strategies i implemented straight away in my clinical practice.
beyond the clinical content, paul has a natural talent for creating camaraderie within the group, encouraging open discussion and offering ongoing support well after the course has finished.
it’s an exceptional course which every dentist would benefit from attending.
Having recently completed all three modules of this exceptional course, I can confidently say this stands as the best continuing professional development I’ve undertaken in my dental career. Paul has created a comprehensive A–Z guide to full mouth rehabilitation delivered through a logical, step-by-step approach that builds both competence and confidence.
What sets this course apart is its laser focus on the fundamentals. Rather than jumping straight to techniques, Paul places enormous emphasis on proper case selection – teaching not only when and how to treat, but more importantly, when not to treat. This course has fundamentally changed my approach to complex cases. The course structure follows a logical progression: Module 1 covers essential theory and records taking, Module 2 focuses on clinical execution, and Module 3 provides invaluable hands-on experience.
Paul’s delivery of content was excellent. We received detailed handbooks containing all key information, which allowed me to be fully present during lectures without scrambling to take notes. Paul’s teaching style fosters genuine understanding – he patiently answers every question, no matter how basic, and ensures complete comprehension before moving forward. His generosity with knowledge extends far beyond the curriculum, as I experienced firsthand when he spent considerable personal time teaching me dental photography essentials and even helping set up my equipment.
What truly makes this course special is Paul’s evident passion for teaching and his commitment to each participant’s growth. He creates an environment where no question goes unanswered, and his willingness to share hard-earned clinical pearls is extraordinary. Whether you’re looking to begin your journey in full mouth rehabilitation or simply want to strengthen your multidisciplinary dentistry skills, I cannot recommend this course highly enough.
The depth of knowledge gained, combined with Paul’s mentorship approach, makes this far more than just another CE course – it’s a practice-transforming experience that will elevate your clinical judgment and technical skills. For any dentist serious about restorative excellence, this is quite simply essential education.
I recently completed the first 2 modules (theory with some hands-on) of this full mouth rehab course with Paul. There is a 3rd hands-on module that I can’t attend due to a scheduling conflict though I wish I could. Thought I would give my thoughts on this after the first two modules because honestly it’s been stellar.
The course covers everything there is to know, in my opinion, when it comes to beginning to tackle full mouth rehabilitation. We touched on the importance of medical histories, risk analysis, and learning about occlusal disease. We learnt about deprogrammers, sequencing treatment, facially driven smile design, demystifying occlusion and the vertical dimension, and the importance of the functional envelope. We also went into material properties, lab communication principles, preparations techniques, and insertion protocols. By no means would this be the only course you’d do, but I think you can’t go wrong if you started out with this one.
Paul is very generous with his knowledge that he’s accrued from many different sources. No question was left unanswered so that we could leave confident about starting to plan and execute. I think Paul’s mantra of knowledge retention is very good as he continually, throughout the 4 days, reflects on principles we learnt earlier so that we didn’t forget anything. I also left with two summarised booklets for each module, which has been very good to reflect on. I think the best part is how easily I’ve applied the information I learnt to day-to-day general dentistry for better patient outcomes.
I can’t recommend this course enough, and am happy for anyone to message me if they have specific questions.
This year I attended Paul Jay Hwin’s Full Mouth Rehabilitation (R3) program, a three-module course delivered over three months, with each module comprising two consecutive days.
Without question, it is the most valuable CPD program I have completed in over 20 years of practice. I only wish I had undertaken training like this earlier in my career. Paul conveyed complex theories and clinical concepts in a way that was not only engaging but also practical and accessible. The course has significantly expanded my confidence in managing a wider range of cases, particularly in assessing and restoring vertical dimension—understanding whois suitable, why it is indicated, and how to execute it predictably.
I was pleasantly surprised by how profoundly this course enhanced my day-to-day dentistry. I gained numerous practical pearls that I now apply in clinical practice every single day.
Modules 1 and 2 focus on theory, while Module 3 involves hands-on preparation of a full arch using a systematic, efficient approach. This practical component was genuinely eye-opening. Paul and his team of instructors provided one-on-one guidance, answered every question with clarity, and offered a depth of knowledge that reflected both expertise and generosity.
One of the course’s greatest strengths is Paul himself. He is an exceptional educator: humble, approachable, engaging, and entertaining. His teaching style is interactive, never monotonous, and he fosters an environment where participants feel comfortable asking anything. His mastery was evident in his ability to respond to every question with precision and insight. The opportunity to discuss and gain his recommendations on personal cases was invaluable.
I unreservedly recommend this course. It is exceptionally well organised, supported by high-quality manuals, and above all, driven by Paul’s unparalleled ability to simplify and teach advanced concepts.
Thank you, Paul—your course has truly reignited my passion for dentistry.
R3 was honestly one of the best CPDs I’ve ever attended, or may I say the best!! The content was structured thoughtfully and intentionally. Paul was kind enough to even summarise it into books for us so that we could pay full attention during the course instead of making notes as he speaks. Everything flows logically and makes something as complex as FMR feel systematic and achievable (as much as he didn’t like us to categorise and think in a rigid way). He wanted us to think and problem solve. Every minute was very thought provoking.
What I appreciated most was how approachable Paul and the rest of the team are. They created a safe space to ask questions, and never rushed through anything. Paul took the time to explain concepts properly, made sure we truly understood before moving on, and never missed answering a single question even when he was preoccupied. He come back to answer all questions as promised. The analogies Paul uses are brilliant, they make complex concepts so easy to understand. That’s such a rare teaching gift.
Beyond the knowledge, I could really tell how much Paul cares, not just about R3 delegates but also his family, his staff and his associates. It genuinely feels like he wants everyone around him to do well. The whole course had such a supportive, nurturing energy. Honestly, it felt like Paul and Fiona were our parents for the past few weekends, looking after us mentally and physically, making sure we learn well and are well fed.
I’ve walked away not just inspired, but confident. I truly feel ready to tackle a full mouth rehab case now, and to do it with a strong foundation and proper structure. Definitely sign up to R3!! You will gain not only valuable knowledge but many friends along the way.
